About Sheppards Accountants

Based in Plymouth, Devon, Sheppards Chartered Accountants are members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Ian and Yvonne Sheppard are Directors and are both qualified accountants. Our technical staff, Neil, Martyn, Gail and Lesley are all qualified accounting technicians.

Sheppards Chartered Accountants are registered auditors and we undertake both company audits and audits for specialised accounting areas such as charities, estate agents and insurance brokers.

Since 1992, Sheppards have worked with clients in the South West of England as well as throughout the UK, offering a full accountancy and taxation service that is personalised to our clients’ requirements and based on the most appropriate, cost effective, individual advice.

We provide coaching on how to set up and use various computerised accountancy packages (including Sage), and are also authorised to offer general investment consultations.

Ian Sheppard qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1974 and has extensive business and financial accounting experience both in practice and from his involvement within commercial organisations.

Yvonne Sheppard qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1988 and has over 20 years experience in all areas of taxation including personal and corporate taxes and VAT.

Neil Stevens' portfolio includes preparation of company accounts, audit and taxation of limited companies, charities and pension schemes.

Martyn Ingham prepares a variety of financial accounts including for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Martyn is also the firm's Sage accounting software advisor.

Gail McManus is responsible for a broad range of work including preparation of financial accounts and tax returns for a wide range of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, and additionally Gail is involved in preparing payroll and VAT returns.

Lesley Bunt's main role includes preparation of sole trader and partnership accounts and personal tax returns. Additionally, Lesley is involved in preparation of rental statements, capital gains computations and tax credit entitlements.

Vicki Brownrigg Prepares payroll, VAT returns, personal tax returns, income & expenditure accounts and various admin duties.
